Description:

NOTE: The online portion of this course may be taken at any time on any day throughout the month of July. You must contact DC Child Care Connections (DC CCC) to schedule the in-person portion once the online portion has been completed.

The American Red Cross adult/pediatric first aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/automated external defibrillator (AED) blended training consists of both an online and in-person component. The participant must complete BOTH components of the training in order to receive a first aid/CPR/AED certification. The course will prepare the participant to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving infants, children and adults. It will also focus on coronavirus (COVID-19) health and safety guidelines, including social distancing.

The online portion is approximately three hours long. After completing the online portion of the training, participants will be prompted to save the completion record. The completion record must be emailed to the DC Child Care Connections (DC CCC) prior to the in-person portion of the training at osse.dcchildcareconnections@dc.gov.

Once the completion record is received, the participant will be contacted by DC CCC to sign up for the hands-on, in-person portion of the blended learning course, which runs approximately three hours. Classes for the in-person portion will be held weekly at a DC CCC service center. Only five participants per class will be permitted to allow for social distancing. More details about the logistics of the in-person portion will be provided upon sign-up.

If you have any questions about this course, please contact DC CCC at osse.dcchildcareconnections@dc.gov or (202) 678-0027.
