Description:

THIS IS PART ONE OF A TWO-DAY COURSE. Participants must attend both sessions to earn the PLUs for this course.

This two-day interactive session will prepare teachers of infants, toddlers and 2-year-olds to build their capacity to support early language and literacy development in children. It will provide a holistic approach to the understanding of how everyday routines, experiences and the classroom environment are tools that teachers can use to help children learn. Teachers will learn how to plan language-rich routines and experiences that support children’s development of important language and literacy skills such as building vocabulary, promoting expressive and receptive language, noticing the sounds and rhythms of language, enjoying books and exploring writing.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - early (birth-36 months)
