Description:

This is part one of a two-part training.

Children love stories and learn best through stories. In this two-part interactive workshop, participants will practice important tools to help them become better storytellers and engage their students in creative and educational story time. Participants will explore arts-based ideas of how to keep students engaged and focused during online and in-person learning. Chants, steady beats, simple props, movement and even playing with the online screen frame are simple but highly effective storytelling techniques that incorporate early childhood learning goals and engage children, whether they are in the classroom or learning at home.

This training addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - early (birth-36 months)
  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
  • Early childhood - late (5-8 years)
