Description: 

In this interactive session, participants will be introduced to the updated DC Early Learning Standards (DC ELS). The session will provide the participants with an understanding of the fundamentals of the DC ELS so that they can use the standards to build a foundation for high-quality early care and education for all children from birth to pre-K. The training will use group discussions, hands-on-activities and video clips to allow participants to explore the components and structure of the DC ELS and develop an understanding of developmentally appropriate programming for infants, toddlers and preschool age children in the beginning stages of effective implementation.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - early (birth-36 months)
  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
  • Early childhood - late (5-8 years)
