Description:

The second of a six-part series, this workshop will present ways for early care and education program leaders to improve their ability to be heard as they speak to their staff, families and the community about their program. In West African tradition, storytellers were called “griots” and they were often the most important people in the village. Their stories were critical pieces to understanding and being understood. As early care and education program leaders, being the storyteller for the village is an important skill. Sharing stories can strengthen your connection and interrelatedness with staff, families and the community. The process for becoming a good storyteller is not only about how well you share a story but also how well you listen, learn, attune and appreciate the village in your early learning program.
