Description:

Safe spaces aren’t just for children. Staff and families need a safe environment to share ideas and communicate effectively. Through our senses, the adult brain is constantly monitoring whether we are in a situation that is safe, dangerous or life threatening. When our bodies and minds experience safety, our social engagement systems enable us to collaborate, listen, empathize and connect. When we feel safe, we are more likely to be creative, innovative and bold in our thinking and ideas. In the fourth of a six-part series, participants will discuss how creating an emotional safe space for staff and families to communicate has positive benefits for the health of the organization.
