Description: 

During this session, participants will examine how higher-level questioning and thought-provoking language can influence a child’s thinking ability and communication skills. Teachers will learn ways to create opportunities for children to stimulate their curiosity and ways to engage with children that extend their learning and ability to think critically. Teachers will learn to incorporate a variety of methods into teacher-child interactions, lessons and environments that promote critical thinking and language development and elicit more information about how children think as they engage in play.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - early (birth-36 months)
  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
