In the first session of this two-part training, participants will explore and analyze DAPs for school-age children and reflect on practices in their own programs. Sample activities for school-age children will be shared following discussion on the developmental needs of school-age children and how to best meet these needs for optimal results. This session will provide guidelines for best practices for school-age child care programming, based in part on standards developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
