Director’s Corner: Interpersonal Development and Communication Skills for Center Directors and Family Home Providers
During this interactive session, participants will work with the facilitator to clearly define the role of and update the job description for each staff member in their child development facility. Participants will develop a staffing model to coordinate the quantity and quality of staff members and resources needed for day-to-day functioning. Participants will also explore ways to develop and improve interpersonal and communication skills, including team building, collaboration and conflict management principles and skills. Through discussion and role-playing, participants will identify different types of teams and how to use a conflict management technique that encourages the conflicting parties to communicate openly and honestly to reach a compromise.
