Date and Time:
Thursday, March 16, 2023 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Description:

Scribbles, stick figures and shapes are how young children begin to express themselves as early writers. Just like reading, children progress through developmental stages as they go from scribbling randomly to writing words. In this interactive session, participants will learn how to use a simple informal scale to estimate a child’s level of writing skill. Knowledge of their students’ writing skills enables teachers to differentiate and support each child’s writing competency.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
