Food Manager's Training
Food Manager's Training
The goal of this certified food protection manager’s training course is to provide the participant with a basic understanding of food safety and to ensure that the participant learns to prepare and serve food safely. Testing taken upon completion of the course includes an assessment of whether the participant has demonstrated competence in knowing safe temperatures for cooking and holding food; the importance of personal hygiene; how to identify cross-contamination and the cause; and how to prevent contamination from equipment, tools and utensils.
This training DOES NOT include the certified food protection manager's certification issued by the Department of Health (DOH), which is required by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) child care licensing regulations. This training also does not cover the associated DOH certification fees. After the training, attendees will be sent results from the testing taken on the day of training. Training attendees will then need to take their passing results to DOH to obtain the certification. The certified food protection manager's certification process may take up to three to four weeks.
