Date and Time:
Thursday, August 25, 2022 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Description:

From birth through early childhood, children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. During this session, participants will learn how to provide opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they explore their world through sensory play. Sensory play is crucial to brain development because it helps to build nerve connections in the brain’s pathways. Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates the senses: touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight and hearing. Participants will participate in a hands-on experience to develop several activities for sensory play and to understand why these activities are beneficial.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - early (birth-36 months)
  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
