Pre-K Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS): Productivity
CANCELLED - Pre-K Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS): Productivity
Productive classrooms provide clearly defined learning activities for students throughout the day. This training will focus on how to manage classrooms for young children that are engaging yet run efficiently. Participants will view videos of high-quality classrooms to analyze whether they are operating like a “well-oiled machine” with the following characteristics: everyone knows what is expected; everyone knows how to do what is expected; and little to no instructional time is lost due to unclear expectations for students, lack of materials, time spent waiting around or unnecessarily lengthy managerial tasks (e.g., inefficient checking of work, explaining directions for a group project that takes more time than executing the project itself). This session will also focus on productivity from lesson planning to lesson implementation.
Intermediate sessions are designed to improve CLASS scores by taking a deeper dive into understanding the CLASS dimension.
This course addresses the following age band(s):
- Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
