Problem-Solving and Inquiry-Based Learning Across the Curriculum
Participants in this session will use teacher-student interactions, teacher-created lesson plans and commercial curriculum guides to analyze where “higher order” student engagement can be intentionally embedded into students’ core and supplemental daily learning experiences (hint: the answer is “Everywhere!”). This training is open to educators serving students in pre-K3 through grade 1 in public schools, public charter schools and Head Start agencies in the District of Columbia, with an aim toward increasing coordination between local education agencies (LEAs) and Head Start agencies through joint professional development.
Participants will receive six professional learning units (PLUs) for full attendance and completion of the training.
This course addresses the following age band(s):
- Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
- Early childhood - late (5-8 years)
