Description: 

During this two-part workshop, participants will learn the storyteller’s art of creating voices, facial expressions,and gestures that bring a story to life. Participants will learn how to animate small toys and simple objects while telling a story. As the storytelling unfolds, the mathematical concept that underlies the story is revealed. The participants will learn how to help children map the story’s sequence and demonstrate an understanding of the math concept. Participants will learn to tell Moving Through Math toy stories that introduce early childhood math concepts.

This course addresses the following age band(s):

  • Early childhood - middle (36-60 months)
