Description: 

This interactive session will review inclusive practices such as universal design for learning and multiple intelligences to identify adaptations to make so that all early learners can access the information that is being taught in a variety of learning environments. This session will also focus on explaining the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a federal law that makes free appropriate public education for children with identified disabilities, specifically Part B, which includes services for children 3 years of age to young adults 22 years of age. The session will also discuss Early Stages, the District of Columbia Public School’s comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary system of services for children with disabilities and developmental delays and their families from ages 2 years 8 months until age 5 years 10 months.
