This session is recommended for multi-grade teaching teams (e.g., pre-K3, pre-K4 and kindergarten teachers from the same school). Participants will learn best practices in vertical alignment or vertical integration within and between schools. For teachers at the same school, this session will provide practice in identifying and evaluating anchor Kindergarten standards using work samples from pre-K3, pre-K4 and kindergarten students.

This training is open to educators serving students in pre-K3 through Kindergarten in public schools, public charter schools and Head Start agencies in the District of Columbia, with an aim toward increasing coordination between local education agencies (LEAs) and Head Start agencies through joint professional development.

Participants will receive six professional learning units (PLUs) for full attendance and completion of the training.
