This training introduces embedded professional development approaches that more effectively promote continuous professional learning and practice. Participants will: (1) define embedded professional development; (2) learn to contrast the mindset, methods and practices of traditional professional development with embedded professional development; and (3) examine the need for collaborative, job embedded professional development. Participants will describe major elements of the job embedded approach to professional development and describe the key ingredients of design and implementation of embedded professional development and leadership’s role in driving ongoing, continuous professional learning.
This training addresses the following age band(s):
- Early childhood – early (birth-36 months)
- Early childhood – middle (36-60 months)
- Early childhood – late (5-8 years)
