Using everyday materials, the facilitator will demonstrate a classroom activity that uses simple, reusable looms and will lead participants in practicing weaving with cardboard strips and yarn. Participants will also learn to expand paper weaving into larger classroom projects with strong West African textile inspiration. This workshop will introduce participants to new ways to build students’ small muscles while learning new skills and techniques. Participants will also discuss culturally appropriate and enriching books to accompany the lesson.
